The Papillon Obscur is an exceptional 100% silk piece inspired by the sculptural silhouette of a butterfly in flight. Deep black silk is intricately worked with thousands of fine reflective beads, creating radiating lines across the bodice and giving the entire piece an almost wing-like appearance. The elongated central panel is framed by ornate beadwork and delicate trailing fringe, while the sculpted sides extend outward before tapering into dramatic pointed edges. Completely deadstock, this is a spectacular example of vintage textile artistry — dark, sensual, architectural, and extraordinarily difficult to replicate.
